It’s been a few years since I released “AMFARS Volume I,” a Bandcamp compilation record featuring artists that appeared in my first book. The decision to release two compilations feels like the right thing to do, since 2020 has been a tough year for everyone. We could all use a healthy dose of Rock N Roll.

The goal / mission behind these free Bandcamp compilations is simple: Preserve and archive our local music (past and present) so it never gets lost or shuffled as time moves on. That’s why I did my book series (“ALL MY FRIENDS ARE ROCK STARS…, Volumes 1-3,” available on Amazon) and continue my blog (AMFARS: All My Friends Are Rock Stars, the blog – hosted by Wordpress).

AMFARS Volume III: Mad-Rock: Loud, Heavy & Extreme is 10 bands / 21 songs beginning in the 80’s with punk legends, IMMINENT ATTACK from Madison, and BLUDGEONED NUN from Rockford: and pre-FORCHRISTSAKE thrashers MIRRORED IMAGE. BLIND WITNESS (now SEPTEMBER INSOMNIA), DECADENZA, PURE AGGRESION and STONE MASON round out the '90s.

Hailing from Madison are death metal legends CORPSICLE (90’s) and VERMILLION (Present Day) as well as present day Rockford / Madison psych / doom VANISHING KIDS featuring Jerry Sofran (MIRRORED IMAGE, FORCHRISTSAKE, NAME THE MOON, etc.), and last but not least is CONVOY who play down and dirty rock N roll with a CORROSION OF CONFORMITY vibe to ‘em.
